Air Max 1 ’86 x Doernbecher Freestyle Hailey – FZ3021-919
WHY IS IT CHEAP? Read me?
As part of the Doernbecher Freestyle program, which gives young patients the opportunity to work with Nike designers, Hailey created a special heart-inspired shoe that honors her medical journey. The anatomical heart on the tongue and insole is an exact replica of Hailey’s one-of-a-kind heart, which was hand-drawn by her doctor to help explain the surgery process. Hailey also turned some of her favorite things (like ice cream and rainbows) into mix-and-match charms that you can wear on the shoe or as a bracelet.
Since 2004, Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle Program has raised nearly $37 million for OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This special partnership gives young patients the opportunity to work with Nike designers to create their own collections of Nike and Jordan Brand sneakers, apparel and accessories. Their one-of-a-kind collections are then auctioned off at the program’s annual fundraiser—with every penny going to the children’s hospital.
