Nike Air Force 1 Low Houston 2022 – DZ5427-001
WHY IS IT CHEAP? Read me?
Since launching in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 has traveled across the globe, but it was select cities in the U.S. that gave it the type of cachet to pack its bags and stamp its passport in the first place. Once such city was Houston, which is set to get its own low-top drop soon. Likely inspired by the slabs that’ve long been associated with the Texan destination, the newly-surfaced style of Bruce Kilgore’s 40-year-old design dons everything from velour toe boxes and inner-lining to metallic silver profile swooshes. Black leather fills in the gaps across the upper, while the sole unit opts for a relatively straightforward ensemble that couples plain white with the type of red flair that might appear on the fifth elbow wheel mounted on the back of a candy paint-donning old American automobile. Lace dubraes reference the southern city, with “NIKE”-branding on the sock-liner stylized as a cassette tape, surely a nod to the “Screw Tapes” produced by DJ Screw in his short 29 years of life.
